AI Ethics & Literacy | Project-Based Software Training | Creative Consulting
Mission: To empower students with peer-led STE(A)M awareness, ethics, and literacy programming.
Art meets technology in these creative, interactive, hands-on workshops led by skilled young artists and entrepreneurs Chris (14) and Lucas (12) Brown. Each workshop begins with an exciting presentation covering the science behind visual communication followed by topics addressing artificial intelligence’s impact on the future.
Photography 101 & AI
Taught by Chris Brown II, Dekalb Arts Academy
Chris, 14, delivers a peer-to-peer demo of his camera and the portfolio he submitted to earn his seat into the #1 Art High School. He’ll give his recipe for what makes a good photograph and how to spot a fake in this new age of AI.
Awareness. Visual communication accounts for 50% of our brain's processing; it's pretty important to understand how it all works together and the artist's responsibility to their global audience. We believe the topics of ethical AI usage and continuing AI education for users should be raised and addressed in every conversation.
Art of Tech & AI
Taught by Lucas Brown, Dekalb Arts Academy
Lucas, 12, shows off a collection of 3D prints made on a printer he built by hand. A future architect, he discuss’ his experience in coding, robotics, and building. He will share scenarios and resources for AI use, highlighting the benefits of AI.
Awareness. Foreign languages are required in most curriculums, but why aren't we including computer language? Speaking code and understanding the basics of programing an application will be fundamental in preparing for a global future. We believe the topics of ethical AI usage and continuing AI education for users should be raised and addressed in every conversation.
Ethics - Roundtable
Discussion Topic: "If you find a $100 bill on the ground…"
A judgement free dialog about culture, morals, and what each student would do with the $100.
Research. Shaping the future of AI means understanding the humans who will program and train the models. Is keeping the $100 good luck or is it stealing? Depends on who you ask. We believe the topics of ethical AI usage and continuing AI education for users should be raised and addressed in every conversation.

The Focus Group Movement’s Creative Seeds solutions were created to serve visual communicators at all stages of their craft:
The Student looking for real world project solutions or career guidance from a subject matter expert (SME)
The Teacher looking for literacy tools and updates on the latest technological advances - specifically the future of AI
The Novice looking to pivot into a creative career - needs a veteran tour guide
The Hobbyist looking to learn pro theory and transferable skills to level up with
The Self Taught Go Getter looking for industry standards and time tested executables - knows but doesn’t KNOW-know
The Experienced Designer looking to reclaim joy and renewed excitement - needs to reclaim that creative spark
The Entrepreneur looking to level the playing field - needs to communicate effectively with collaborators
Since 2004 we’ve taught and led discussions about visual communication. We watched dial‑up give way to fast mobile social apps, and we’ve kept relearning from experts and testing new technologies in our research lab.

====
We have a solution to a broken system.
Software trainers leave you anxious and back at square one because they never show you how to apply their lessons to your own work.
On the other side, graphic designers will never share their secrets, deliberately complicating your file set up so you're forced to comeback to them to fix it. It's a calculated game of keeping you dependent.
To fix this, our project based training applies practical application, working on your real projects in real time, guided by a Subject Matter Expert with a passion for empowering people.
Customizable Outline (based on project objectives):
File audit to find trap doors in legacy files
Link global assets using CC Libraries
Automate formatting using styles
Establish shared asset folders for packaging
Use Bride to apply metadata and batch naming conventions
Use Smart Objects and Libraries to streamline revision process
Maintain and Organize layers
